Bloomers

A few months ago, we received these adorable little bloomers for the girls. I haven't gotten much of a chance to put them on them because I always feel like the house is too cold for them. Today, I cranked up the heat and let them do some "naked baby time" like we used to do with Paige. :)

Payton is OBSESSED with Reagan's hands. She's always trying to get them in her mouth, which is quite entertaining to everyone, except Reagan. :)

Cutest little butts!!

I LOVE this picture of the girls. Pure happiness - one of life's greatest gifts.

My two favorite blue eyed gals.

Best "Just Because" Present Ever!!

Mark and Paige have a ritual of going to the mall and getting Mommy a present. I usually end up being the proud owner of a bouncy ball or stuff animal from The Disney Store. I've even started mentioning to Paige that Mommy wants a new purse....but that's yet to happen (although I did get a Disney reusable princess bag that Paige was convinced was a new purse for Mommy....)

Today, I was attempting to get a ton of stuff down around the house, so Mark took Paige to the mall while the girls slept. When they got home, I received my first homemade present from Paige - which absolutely melted my heart!!!

Paige painting at the store in the mall. She's doing such a good job of painting "Mom" aquamarine (her FAVORITE color). Thanks, Blue's Clues. :)

Proud of her work.

The finished project - already hanging on the wall!!

Rice Cereal Time!!

Today, we started the inevitable Rice Cereal. I was really OK with holding off up to this point, because I feel like it makes the girls grow up so quickly. One minute they are trying rice cereal, the next minute they are calling for an extension to their curfew...

The girls getting ready to try this stuff...YUMMY!!

Reagan's first bite...

Ewwww....gross!!

Are we done yet??

Payton's first bite....

What the heck was that!?!?

Full bellies. They didn't eat that much because I'm still trying to work out the amount to give them in their bottles vs. how much formula I should use for the rice cereal. I'm sure we'll have it down pat by their first birthdays. :)

Paige "painting" Daddy. She thought it was funny, so we went with it!

When you tell Paige to close her eyes, this is the face you get. Nice.

Happy just chillin' in the high chairs. It's a new view for them and they seem to be loving it! (Our kitchen, on the other hand, has been taken over with high chairs and booster seats. We're on the search for a new kitchen table so that we can fit more than just ONE regular kitchen chair). :)

My favorite little Cabbage Patch Kid.

My favorite little porcelain doll.

Minnie's Boutique

For Christmas two years ago, Auntie Clare bought Paige a Minnie Mouse doll and some outfits to change her into. Just recently, Paige has been asking to play with Minnie Mouse, and change her clothes to the princess outfits. Now that she's older, she appreciates the dresses and loves Disney Princesses.

After her nap the other day, she was asking to play dress up with Minnie Mouse. So, we pulled out her and her wardrobe and started having a blast!

Tinker-Minnie! If you look closely, you can see her eyes smiling!

When she saw that Cinder-Minnie's outfit came with a crown, she couldn't wait to put hers on too (also from Auntie Clare!)

Cinder-Minnie and her glass slippers. :)

Paige and Sleeping Minnie. I think this is her favorite hands down.

Sleeping Minnie. She goes with us everywhere. The only time she changes her outfit is when it's nap time or nite-nite time, and she puts her nightgown and slippers on for bedtime (yep, we got that too!) Thanks, Auntie Clare, she's having a blast!!!

SIX MONTHS OLD!!

The girls had their six month checkups this week. I LOVE our doctor group, but because everyone else in Naperville does too, we have to make their wellness appointments three months in advance. When I made their appointment three months ago, I thought 7pm & 7:30pm would be perfect. We'd get a babysitter for Paige and Mark and I could both take the girls. Well, I was a little worried because now (unlike three months ago), they are in bed by 6:30pm. Luckily, they were amazingly good as always!

Payton, waiting to see the doctor. She'd be much happier if she were asleep.

Reagan, feeling the same way.

The girls are doing great! Their development is a bit above their adjusted age (of about 4 1/2 months). Payton is 15 1/2 lbs (40th%) and 26 1/2" long (75th %). Reagan is following closely behind at 14 lbs, 4 oz (20th %) and 25 5/8" long (50th %). We received the OK to start them on rice cereal, which I know is going to make them grow up so quickly. They aren't little babies anymore!! Payton does have an appointment with Wheaton Eye Clinic next week, because one of her pupils is a tad bit bigger than the other when it's dark in the room. Once it gets light, they even out, and close at the same amount. It's not obvious to the naked eye if you don't look for it, but they just want to make sure it's nothing serious.

After four shots each, all they did the next day was sleep. It took all I had to keep them awake, and as you can see, they weren't having any of it! I'm looking forward to the next six months, and watching them mature and reach milestones!

Why didn't WE think of that?!!?

A few months ago, I received these 3 x 3 square pieces of felt paper with little crinkly papers sewn in. Let's just say Reagan and Payton have become obsessed with them!! They hear the crinkly noise, and start looking around with wide eyes! Sadly, I misplaced one of them, so there's only one for the two of them. After not having much luck on amazon, I decided to call around and try to find a replacement since they were such big fans. Long story short, I found the paper at a store in LaGrange Park called "Monday's Child". Krissy was heading out there anyway, and said she would pick one up. $10!! Why didn't WE think of that??!?! Maybe next time. ;)

Payton eyeing the paper in Reagan's hands.

Reagan shoving it in her mouth. She gets pretty ticked off if she drops it!

Payton, smiling, waiting patiently for her turn. :)

Tummy Time Chats. (Ignore the drool, it's teething time!!)

Reagan, enjoying her Bumbo time.

Payton, not enjoying Bumbo time as much! Paige wasn't a huge fan either. :)

Papa Passero's

Saturday night we had a first birthday party for my cousin's twin boys. We got to get dressed up and head out to eat at Papa Passero's. I think Paige was just excited to be doing something, finally! She woke up from her nap all excited to go to a party. I could barely get her dressed before she was by the garage waiting to leave!

Stop taking pictures, Mom! I just want to go to the party!!!

She wasn't a big fan of the chicken or noodles, but she definitely filled herself up with some fruits, veggies and goldfish!

When we left, Gina gave her some balloons to take home. She was having a blast with the whole static aspect of them.

We received the cutest little containers filled with candy for party favors. That was about all I could get Paige to do with the Starburst - look at it. :) We weren't able to stay long, but we were so happy to get out and about. I definitely think she needed it!!

Photo Shoot Flubs

Attempting to get the girls to smile at the same time proves to be time consuming, if not impossible. Especially since they are getting to the age of being so easily distracted! Right before we had a play date with Mandy and Aubrie Kolbaba, we attempted to get some pictures for a frame I have.

As you can see from the many outtakes, Paige just walks by and they lose concentration on me. I can't help but laugh because I took over 100 pictures, and I was only able to get two pictures that had them even looking at me!!

All focused on Mommy...

Reagan checking out Payton.

Payton checking out Reagan.

...AND here she is.

More Paige interference....

Now she's moved over there --->.

And NOW she's above them...

The only other "decent" picture I was able to get. Oh well, we'll have to try again!

Spring Fever!

We've had a terrible run of spring fever floating around the house! Thank goodness it's started to warm up just a bit to give us a taste of what's in store in the next few months (or so I keep telling myself!). We've had a few visitors, a few mommy nights out, and just some random things here and there going on. Here are just a few pictures hanging out at home this week.

Make yourself comfortable, Paige. She sat here for about 10 minutes just reading a book. Whatever floats her boat!! :)

I seriously think Reagan's eyes keep getting bigger and more blue every day!!

We used to try to keep the multiple purple dollies separated. Now, they are her twins. They make it a lot easier to get all three happy! :)

Some babies, such as Reagan enjoy their tummy time....

Some babies, like Payton, tend to shoot daggers the whole time!

Either way, it's a great time to chat and catch up.
